NASCAR has ended its policy that requires everyone on the track to stand and face the American flag with their right hands covering their hearts during the playing or singing of the national anthem. The 43-year-old driver won the pole Friday in qualifying for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. This is his second pole of the season and the third of his career at the track. Jeff Gordon mechanic Dwayne Doucette and engine tuner Jason Ingle, and Kasey Kahne tire changer Jeremy Fuller were suspended for six races and fined $25,000 apiece while Gordon hauler driver/mechanic Dean Mozingo was suspended for three races and fined $10,000 for throwing punches in the fight with Team Penske. Doucette, Ingle and Fuller were determined to have punched Keselowski, while Mozingo was determined to have punched another crewman. Each driver entered in the race will be on the track during the opening qualifying session, with NASCAR eventually cutting the group to the 12 fastest drivers who will determine who wins the pole.
