In an advisory at 11:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, the NHC announced that hurricane watches had been issued for parts of several states, including New Orleans in Louisiana and the border between Mississippi and Alabama. According to the NHC, a hurricane watch is issued when hurricane conditions are possible within 48 hours of the announcement being made, i.e. wind speeds of more than 74mph. A tropical storm watch has also been issued for parts of Alabama and Florida, which is announced when tropical storm conditions are possible somewhere in the predicted area within 36 hours....

The latest hypothetical general election matchup poll for December 2019 released on Monday shows Biden with 44 percent of support among overall voters compared to Trump’s 45 percent, while Buttigieg is at 43 percent to Trump’s 45 percent in a head-to-head matchup. Both are within the Phoenix, Arizona-based OH Predictive Insights poll’s 3.9-point margin of error and also reveals that support for Buttigieg has increased significantly over the past several months....
