Choi of Bergen County submitted four fraudulent applications for PPP loans to four lenders on behalf of four businesses that were said to provide educational services, according to filed documents and statements made in court. He allegedly lied about the existence of hundreds of employees on the application, manipulated bank records, and falsified a driver’s license—while stating that these companies paid over $3 million in monthly wages....

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is supporting the proposal, which could result in a $9,000 increase from the current starting salary. She announced the proposal on Friday during a call with educators, saying that teachers across three tiers of experience levels will be “the highest-paid individuals in any state near” New Mexico. An Emerson College/WHDH 7 News survey released Wednesday shows Trump trailing to five Democrats vying for the party’s nomination, including Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Andrew Yang. Registered New Hampshire voters in the survey were given head-to-head races between Trump and leading Democratic candidates. Half of the voters polled were given an option to say they were undecided between the two candidates, while the other half were forced to choose between the two options....

Thinking about what you eat and drink is one place to start if you’re looking to lower your cholesterol. According to a new study that included close to two million people, regular consumption of milk is not associated with an increase in cholesterol. Researchers have looked at whether certain types of milk affect cardiovascular health before, but studies investigating general milk consumption’s role on blood cholesterol levels have been limited....

The study, which was published in the journal Brain, used positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) imaging techniques to analyze 37 people who were either already diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease or had a high risk of developing the disease. The scans discovered that some people had damage to their brain’s dopamine system before suffering damage to their heart and intestines. But other patients had damage to the nervous systems in their intestines and heart before damage was visible in their brain’s dopamine system....

U.S. District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino sentenced 25-year-old Nicholas Faber, of Rochester, to 36 months behind bars on Thursday, according to the Department of Justice. Faber was also sentenced to three years of supervised release upon the completion of his prison sentence and ordered to pay over $35,000 in restitution to the State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburgh. He pleaded guilty to charges of computer fraud and aggravated identity theft on February 8....

A loud bang was heard in the busy part of the city just before 7 p.m., with images and videos from the scene showing tourists and locals running through the streets of Manhattan after hearing a loud boom. It was later confirmed that the bang was the result of a manhole explosion near 215 W. 43rd Street, with smoke also coming from two other manholes, the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) told Newsweek....
