The recent and rapid spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant spurred the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and American Academy of Pediatrics to recommend everyone in schools wear masks in areas with high transmission, such as Georgia. The nearly 40 percent of students required to wear masks in Georgia are located in the at least 28 districts that did decide to impose a mandate, out of the more than 180 districts across the state, the Associated Press reported....

According to data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) only five states have less than 70 percent of ICU beds in use, as of Monday morning.
