Busch reported a flat right-front tire on Lap 137 and decided to pit as he felt his car get loose. The decision to get four new tires cost Busch a lap, putting him behind Championship 4 contenders Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards and Joey Logano.
Despite reporting a flat tire, Busch’s crew chief Adam Stevens said on the team’s radio, “Nothing wrong with that tire, man. Don’t know what you felt."
Busch has plenty of time to get back into contention after a caution flag on Lap 170 put him on the same pit-road cycles as the leaders.
