Bowyer, who announced he would transition to the TV booth in 2021, used the moment to make fun of himself.
“They have to let me lead and complete this whole lap, (spotter) Brett,” said Bowyer on his radio. “Might be the only lap I lead around this freakin’ place.”

Bowyer was born in Emporia, Kan.
He was eliminated from playoff contention last weekend.
