Nationals Defense Turns Comically Inept Against Red Sox

With the Red Sox already up in the bottom of the third, Zimmermann induced Boston’s Xander Bogaerts to loft a soft fly to right-center field. What happened next is a textbook example on how not to play a fly ball, as right fielder Bryce Harper and center fielder Michael Taylor played a game of “I got it! No, you take it!” 

Hanley Ramirez scored on the play. Then, Boston’s Sandy Leon lofted an easy fly ball to left-center field. Taylor and left fielder Jayson Werth … well, the video tells the same sad story.

Leon’s RBI single gave the Red Sox a 7-0 lead.
