That said, few players have captured the attention of NBA scouts or fans as much as Fall, whose stature is rarely seen, even in the NBA. He measured in at 7 feet, 5 1/4 inches without shoes and a whopping 289 pounds at the combine. If he were to make an NBA roster, he would not only be the tallest player in the league, but also the second-heaviest, behind Boban Marjanovic.

Not surprisingly, Fall led all combine measurements with his height and weight. But he also led in standing reach (10 feet, 2 1/4 inches), wingspan (8 feet, 2 1/4 inches), and hand length (10 1/2 inches). The only anthropometric stat Fall didn’t lead the class in was hand width; he was tied for fifth in that category at 10 1/2 inches.
Fall used his size and strength well throughout the 2018-19 season for UCF, averaging 11.1 points and 7.6 rebounds. That was most noticeable in the Knights’ second-round loss to Duke. The Knights often placed Fall in the center of the lane, providing the biggest obstacle of the season (figuratively and literally) for Duke forward Zion Williamson. While Williamson scored 32 points in the matchup, Fall was still a huge reason UCF came as close as it did to an upset in its 77-76 loss.
Sporting News has you covered on everything you need to know from the 2019 combine, including Fall’s measurements and why Zion opted not to participate:
Is Zion Williamson at the NBA Draft combine?
No, Zion is not at the combine. Why? Because it makes zero sense for Zion to participate. There’s nothing — nothing — he could do there that would increase his draft stock further. How do you improve on being the near-unanimous No. 1 pick?
If anything, participating could potentially hurt Zion’s draft stock: He could have a bad interview, or struggle in one or more drills, or get hurt. There are myriad reasons for Zion not to participate, but his play (and height and weight and vertical leap and energy and basketball smarts) is all he needs to prove he’s the top pick.
If NBA scouts still aren’t convinced after watching him lead Duke in 2018-19, then they weren’t paying attention.
