Cousins will be leaving Sacramento and staying in New Orleans for the foreseeable future after the Kings decided to send their now-former center to the Pelicans in exchange for guards Tyreke Evans, Buddy Hield and Langston Galloway as well as 2017 first- and second-round picks. Omri Casspi will also join Cousins on the Pelicans as part of the trade.

The deal was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

DEVENEY: At long last, the Kings finally move on from Cousins

Cousins’ manager, Andrew Rogers, reacted shortly after the news broke. Safe to say he probably wasn’t expecting All-Star Weekend to present this kind of problem . . .

Rogers wasn’t alone in his surprise. Players around the league were shocked by the news, including a couple former Kentucky stars.

One man was elated to hear “Boogie” would no longer be wearing a Kings jersey — the team’s TV play-by-play announcer, Grant Napear.

Tell us how you really feel, Grant. But perhaps Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times summed it up best.

Yep, these are your Sacramento Kings.
