Now Netflix will be introducing viewers to a new type of show, one where they don’t have to watch episodes in order. The show’s name? Kaleidoscope.
Here is everything you need to know about the forthcoming drama, including who will be starring in it and what it’s about.
When Will ‘Kaleidoscope’ Come Out?
Kaleidoscope will be released globally on Netflix on Sunday, January 1, and the eight-episode series will be available all in one go, as is the norm for Netflix shows.
However, while the notion of a non-linear show may make it seem fun for viewers to start with the final episode this actually will not be possible.
Viewers will be given the option of starting their journey into the show’s story from any episode except for the finale, titled “White,” which fans can only watch once they have seen every other episode.
The other seven episodes are each given their own color, “Yellow,” “Green,” “Blue,” “Violet,” “Orange,” “Red,” and “Pink,” and each is set at a different point in time either before or after the finale. The timeline ranges from 24 years before to seven months after the event.
What Will ‘Kaleidoscope’ Be About?
Kaleidoscope is an epic heist drama that follows a crew of master thieves and their quest to get into the unbreakable vault of Roger Salas (Rufus Sewell).
Led by Leo Pap (Giancarlo Esposito), the team will do all that they can to get into the vault and have the biggest payday in history, but loyalties will be tested and betrayals revealed.
Set over a period of 25 years, Kaleidoscope will see viewers learn not only about the heist, but how the crew came to be formed, Leo’s history with Roger, and other dark secrets that will come to light in different ways depending on how a viewer chooses to watch the show.
