The new trophy – which will be given to the champion of this year’s four-team College Football Playoff – was revealed Monday at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala. Here’s a first look at the trophy, which will be given out at the national championship game at AT&T Stadium on Jan. 12.

The trophy replaces the “crystal football,” which has been given to the BCS national champion since 1998:
The AFCA Coaches Trophy also was revealed Monday. It is awarded to the No. 1 team in the final Amway Coaches Poll.
