In 10 games this season, the sixth-overall pick from the 2015 NHL Entry Draft had not registered a point with just 10 shots on goal. While Zacha played well in the Devils’ first two games as the second-line center, he struggled to make an impression.
This year’s performance is a far cry from his productivity the past two seasons. Zacha posted 24 points in 70 games during his first full season in 2016-17 and followed it up with 25 points in 69 games last season.
Zacha, 21, has not suited up in the AHL since the 2015-16 season – the same year he made his NHL debut for the Devils.
