Now some veterans charge Hackworth did much the same thing. Last week, CBS and CNN reported that Hackworth’s resume listed two unearned decorations, an oak-leaf cluster to the Distinguished Flying Cross and an Army Ranger tab. Hackworth, acknowledg ing that the army may have made administrative errors when it reissued him all of his medals in the late 1980s, removed both from his resume. He said that after a critical piece last year in the online magazine Slate, he decided to list only awards given for valor in combat - a total of more than 70, including eight Purple Hearts. Said Hackworth: ““I have never worn any award that was not issued to me by the U.S. Army.''
