This is not the first time a new stadium has appeared in the Madden NFL series before it was completed, as Levi’s Stadium (San Francisco 49ers) was available once the second season of Franchise Mode was reached in 2013’s Madden NFL 25. In that case, it was a year in advance as well. If the precedent holds then, the stadium being built for the Atlanta Falcons may appear in next year’s game (Madden NFL 17) prior to it officially opening for the 2017 season. Madden NFL 16 releases on Tuesday, Aug. 25 — but the game can be played right now by those with an Xbox One and subscription to EA Access.
