The flare can be seen in the video above that was captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory on Sunday. In it, a contorted plasma structure can be seen moving on the left-hand side of the sun shortly before it erupts into space. Solar flares are eruptions of electromagnetic radiation from the sun that travel at the speed of light. The increased levels of X-ray and extreme ultraviolet radiation carried by flares can have an effect on Earth’s ionosphere—a region of the atmosphere containing electrically-charged particles....

The photos reveals smoke being produced by some of the fires which have been ravaging the country in recent months, as well as a large dust storm which spread across several states over the weekend. “Australia. Penalties were expected following the turmoil at Charlotte, where Keselowski tried to spin out Hamlin on the cool-down lap and then made contact with Kenseth as they came down pit road. Stewart, collected in the Keselowski-Kenseth contact, then backed hard into Keselowski, causing damage to the front of Keselowski’s car. While there has been no video released of what occurred between Keselowski and Hamlin as they entered the garage area to the garage stalls across from their haulers, Keselowski and Hamlin were still side-by-side when video again picks up, showing Keselowski smoked his tires as he drove to his hauler with Hamlin behind him....

The Metro Nashville Police Department said an explosion linked to a vehicle occurred at 6.30 a.m. on Friday outside The Melting Pot restaurant at 166 2nd Avenue in downtown Nashville. Three people were hospitalized with injuries, The Tennessean reported. In a statement on Twitter, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said authorities believe the explosion was “an intentional act.” “Early this morning, an explosion occurred in downtown Nashville around Second Avenue and Commerce Street....
