Atlanta has agreed to send Kent Bazemore to Portland in exchange for Evan Turner. The teams announced the trade on Twitter Monday night. Bazemore averaged 11.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in 67 games for the Hawks last season. He shot 40.2% from the field and 32% from 3-point range. The 29-year-old has also played for the Warriors and Lakers over his seven-year career. He is set to enter the final year of his contract as he signed a four-year, $70 million extension with Atlanta in July 2016....

The Rockets, Hawks, Timberwolves and Nuggets linked up in the mega-deal, which sent center Clint Capela from the Rockets to the Hawks and forward Robert Covington from the Timberwolves to the Rockets. The Wizards struck the first deal of the day, landing the Nets’ Bojan Bogdanovic to add needed bench depth. It cost them Andrew Nicholson, Marcus Thornton and a lottery protected first-round pick. There will be no more rolled-up jerseys during games. The NCAA recently released new rules for the upcoming college football season, and the crop-top styles are in the past. Players will not be allowed in the game if their jerseys are rolled up. The NCAA has granted Oakland University’s Isaiah Brock immediate eligibility, according to the school. “We’re appreciative of the NCAA initially awarding Isaiah with the ability to receive athletics financial assistance in addition to eligibility for practice,” Oakland AD Jeff Konya said in a school-issued statement . “And we are even more thankful that the reconsideration has resulted in this decision for Isaiah.” MORE: Top basketball programs since 2000 Originally the NCAA wanted the 22-year-old forward to sit out the 2016-17 season due to his below-qualifying grades when the Baltimore native completed high school in 2011....

The Division I baseball committee's unanimous vote allows conferences to adopt the new ball for regular-season play. The ball, shown by researchers to fly farther, will be used during the NCAA baseball tournament in 2015. The ball will have flat seams and be similar to the kind used in professional baseball. A raised-seam ball is now used in the college game. Clemson's Jack Leggett and Rice's Wayne Graham led the call for a new ball after dialed-back bats put into play in 2011 led to a drop in offense to levels not seen since the wooden-bat era before 1974....
